BOMBANANA on Linux and Steam Deck

BOMBANANA has no native Linux build, but it runs well through Proton, and most players report it works out of the box with online co-op rated Excellent. The one thing almost everyone has to fix is the microphone.

The short version

The microphone fix

The developer reduced in-game microphone volume (compensating for demo mics that were far too loud), so voices can sound quiet. On top of that:

Known problem: freezing on Play

A few players on Ubuntu Core report the game installing and opening fine, then freezing or crashing when they press the Play button — sometimes badly enough that they cannot change room settings or invite friends. Reported hardware includes an RX 580 and an RTX 3060 Ti; trying GE-Proton, proton-cachyos, default Proton and Experimental did not help, and a Proton Hotfix build was the most stable for one player. If you hit this, see the not launching guide.

Steam Deck

There are no Deck-specific reports in the sources checked, and the game's low system requirements and positive Proton reports suggest it should run, but its Deck Verified status and the on-Deck experience are not confirmed here.
